I actually have to rate them, so one star is what they receive but these people actually deserve no stars and here is my reasoning. At 9:45 am on July 4th of 2017, there was a horrible car accident containing a 6 year old boy, a 15 year old and 18 year old female, and a single mother. I am the 18 year old woman who was a passenger in the front of the car in this accident. This all happened from my point of view. What happened was that my mom made the mistake of taking her eyes off the road to talk to me and when my mom looked up, the road was curving and she could not correct the car in time so my mom made a split second decision to aim for what she thought was just bushes but it turned out to be a gully that was about a 6 and a half foot drop from the road, surrounded by dirt and thorny blackberry bushes. The right side of the car was blocked by these bushes and a wall of dirt, so my sister and I could not get out on this side of the car and had to climb across the seats if we wanted to get out. I was yelling at everybody to get out of the car. My little brother was screaming and crying and almost immediately there were people, awesome Samaritans, coming to our rescue. They and my mom helped get my little brother out of the car first and out of the gully. Then, they had to cut their way through the thorny blackberry bushes to help the rest of my family. We all sustained seat belt burns, severe bruising, and several scratches from the blackberry bushes (the CHP officer and the doctor at the Trinity Hospital said that we were lucky to sustain the injuries that we had because we're all wearing seat belts which saved our lives but they said it could have been much worse). Plus my sister had to get a stitch in her tongue because she bit down half way through her tongue. Once we all got out of that gully, we went to a store called Trinity River Rafting for help because we were told by the good Samaritans that there was no cell phone service in that particular area and we all had cell phones on us. Once, we got into the store my mom explained to this lady and gentleman who were working in the store at around 10:00 am on July 4th of 2017 that we had a horrible car accident, our cell phones were not working, and my mom asked if she could please use their business phone to call for help. Meanwhile, all of my mom's children, including myself, were standing next to her when this happened. The lady said, "I'm sorry, we are having a lot of reservations coming in through our phone right now and we do not want to tie up our lines. I'm trying not be rude but...." In which my mom then said, "Thank you. Where can I use a phone to call for help?" The lady then replied,"You can go across the street." In which we did and the convenience store lady , across the street, got off their store's phone immediately and let us call for help and gave my brother some ice and water.I'd like to thank all the people who came to our rescue. Thank you so much. My point is don't support the Trinity River Rafting business, don't waste your time and money because if you ever in dire need of help ,don't expect it from these people. If they had a heart, they would would have helped us. Go across the street for help. Here are some pictures of the car after the accident, when our car was towed home, and some injuries sustained in the accident.
Riley was a great tour guide! He told us lots about the river's history, environment, and rafting experiences. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The experience itself was so fun. They had a great mixture of class 1-3 rapids. We also got to experience the water by jumping in and swimming around when available. We felt very safe and had a blast!
Dana was very accommodating to our party of five. Our guide Amelia was a delight. We saw otters, a momma deer and her baby plus were chased by a big white duck who rode some wave trains with us. The rapids were a blast and the scenery was gorgeous. Lots of adventure! We recommend it (and Trailhead Pizza in Weaverville after!)
Outstanding!!! Book Trinity! I don't write reviews (this may be my first), but I feel I need to share the quality of this outfitter. I looked into all of them and had a feeling Trinity was special when I spoke with Dave. It was an amazing afternoon- and if you are lucky enough to have Connor as your guide, the afternoon will be even better!! He's skilled, he knows the river and the area. A delight to talk to, zero arrogance, and challenges his rafters to go beyond! Trinity is worth the trip! Highly recommend.
On July 4, 2017 there was a horrible car accident that took place at 9:45 am. In the accident there was a 6 year old boy, an 18 year old female, a single mom, and me, a fifteen year old girl. At the time of the accident I was asleep so I didn't know exactly what happened but here's the story from my point of view. My mom had took her eyes off of the road to talk to my sister for a second. When she saw the bend in the road she wasn't able to correct it in time. So she made a quick decision and drive into what looked like a bush but was instead goalie that was surrounded by thorn bushes and a wall of dirt. My brother started screaming for my mom. My mom was asking if everyone was alright and my sister began to tell everyone to get out of the car. My sister and I were unable to get out because our doors we blocked by bushes and had to go and climb over the seat to get out. My mom had pushed my brother out of the goalie and a group of kind people had got him out telling us that there wasn't any phone service. When we all got out we asked them if we were able to call from anywhere and went to a place called Trinity River Rafting. My mom told them that we were in a bad car accident and asked them if we could use their phone only to get turned down. They told us, and I quote," I'm sorry we are having a lot reservations going through our phone right now and we do not want to tie up our lines. I'm trying not to be rude but..." My mom thanked them and then asked them where we could call somebody for help. They told us there was a phone that we could use across the street. The lady there had immediately let us use their phone to call our family and tell them what happened. An ambulance came pick us up and took us to the hospital. We all had set belt burn injuries, my mom got some pretty bad bruises from the air bag and the steering wheel. I had to go and get a stitch in my mouth because I had bit halfway through my tongue. The doctors had said that we were lucky to have the injuries that we had. All that I am saying is that we had asked these people for help because we got into a car accident and they told us no because they had some stupid reservations. It's nice to know that they think that reservations are more important than people.
